Our Iowa e-therapy or e-visit program is a service provided by a behavioral health professional to an established patient using a web-based or similar electronic-based communication network for a patient encounter. This communication occurs over the phone or by way of telecommunication.
While we cannot provide Iowa e-Therapy for first-time visits; established clients can be seen via our modern and convenient e-Therapy program. Common Road To Recovery provides e-therapy classes as allowed by The Iowa Code and Iowa Department of Public Health. Evaluations and classes are given via telephone and provided by one of our counselors to patients throughout the entire state of Iowa, regardless of where a patient or potential patient resides.
Currently Common Road To Recovery is accepting new patients from all counties and communities in Iowa, including urban and rural communities for our Iowa E-Therapy program.
Evaluations and treatment are completely given via phone or other electronic medium, eliminating barriers such as transportation, child care, court restrictions or disabilities.
If access to mental health services due to transportation, anxiety, or a lack of local access has ever been a barrier to seeking help or treatment, wait no longer! Common Road To Recovery can serve you right from your home.
Convenient, Effective Treatment
This application of treatment allotted by Iowa code has been piloted by Common Road To Recovery for three years and we have seen a reduction in disparities in the delivery of substance abuse treatment. In addition, barriers to treatment such as child care, suspended driver’s licenses, employment schedules and disabilities have been reduced to 2% as CRTR takes phone calls until 9:00pm. CRTR uses the same curriculum as in face-to-face treatment and believe that telecommunication is an effective treatment delivery to all people of Iowa.
We also accept Medicaid in an effort to reach those who otherwise are unable to access this program or afford treatment. As of September 2017, all
services will be maximized at Common Road to Recovery in order to reduce or eliminate the need to ever visit our physical office. Our services include:
- OWI evaluation
- Extended Outpatient program
- Intensive outpatient program
- Early intervention classes (for both adolescence and adults)
Our offices will continue to be available at all times for those who rather meet with a counselor on a face-to-face basis. The e-Therapy program is a unique program for those seeking substance abuse treatment in Iowa.
